An MEA apostille makes your Indian Family Relationship Certificate (FRC) valid in Hague Convention countries. VerifiedApostille guides NRIs on the correct route and delivers worldwide via DHL / Blue Dart.
This page assumes you already hold a Family Relationship Certificate, whether issued by a state Revenue Department in India or through an Indian mission abroad. Still need to apply for one? See what an FRC is and how to get one, or our South Korea-specific application guide.
Share a scan of your FRC and we’ll confirm your route, price, and ETA within hours.
Regular Apostille or QR-Coded e-Apostille — Which One Do You Need?
Both are physically stamped on your certificate — the e-Apostille additionally carries a QR code and unique ID, so anyone can verify it instantly on the official MEA website. See: How e-Apostille (QR) and e-Sanad verification work.
How Much Does FRC Apostille Cost?
- India — ₹1,450 per document Includes: Notary + SDM (Delhi) attestation + MEA apostille + return delivery (India), with WhatsApp/email updates.
- International (USD) — $30 per document Includes: MEA apostille handling fee only. Notary, SDM (Delhi) attestation, and delivery are quoted separately for international orders.
- If your destination insists on State Home Department, or if translation is required after apostille (common for South Korea/NHIS submissions), we’ll quote the difference before you proceed.
- Multi-document discount: 5-10% auto-applied.
A Family Relationship Certificate is a personal document. Depending on your state/recipient rules, MEA may require SDM or State Home Department first.
What Documents Do You Need?
- Family Relationship Certificate (original or scan, as advised after eligibility check) — issued by a state Revenue Department (Tahsildar/MRO) or an Indian mission abroad
- Passport (first & last page) of the applicant
- Authorization letter + ID for a representative, if applying on your behalf
- Any additional proof only if requested by the destination authority
Accepted FRC types:
- State Revenue Department / Tahsildar-issued Family Relationship or Family Member Certificate
- Indian Embassy/Consulate/ICAC-issued Family Relation Certificate (e.g. from ICAC Seoul)
- Notarized true copies (only where the recipient permits copies)
How Does the FRC Apostille Process Work?
- Eligibility check — share a scan; we confirm Regular vs e-Apostille (QR) and original vs copy per the recipient’s checklist.
- Pickup/courier & verification — we pre-check the names and relationships listed and flag gaps before submission.
- Pre-authentication — Notary if needed, then SDM (Delhi) or State Home Department as required.
- MEA Apostille — the Ministry of External Affairs issues the Regular Apostille or e-Apostille (QR).
- Digital confirmation — you receive a scan or e-Apostille PDF with a verification link.
- Secure return — tracked, insured delivery of your original, in India or worldwide.
For the applicant’s-eye view of getting the certificate in the first place, see our general FRC guide or our South Korea-specific guide.
How Long Does FRC Apostille Take?
~2-3 working days once in process, MEA delays aside. State Home Department routes, reprints, or translation requirements can add time — we confirm your firm ETA upfront, before anything is booked.
How Do We Deliver and Track Your FRC?
Doorstep pickup anywhere in India, a tracking ID the moment it’s dispatched, and tamper-proof packaging for the return leg. You’ll get WhatsApp/email pings at each stage. We ship via Blue Dart by default; if your delivery address falls outside Blue Dart’s serviceable network, we switch to DTDC, Delhivery, or India Post — whichever gets your apostilled FRC to you fastest and most securely.
How Do You Get Started?
Send us a scan of your Family Relationship Certificate plus whatever the recipient requires. We’ll check the seal and format, confirm the right route, and quote an all-inclusive price and ETA before anything is booked. From there it’s pickup or courier, live progress updates, and secure worldwide delivery of your apostilled FRC.
Send us your FRC scan and get your route, price, and ETA the same day.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do you apostille FRCs issued in India, or only ones issued abroad through an Indian mission?
Both. We apostille Family Relationship Certificates issued by a state Revenue Department in India, as well as ones issued through an Indian Embassy/Consulate/ICAC abroad — share the complete certificate and we'll confirm the route.
Do I need to send the original certificate?
Often yes for the Regular Apostille. If your recipient accepts it, e-Apostille (QR) on a notarized copy may be enough — we confirm after an eligibility check.
How much does it cost?
India — ₹1,450 per document, including Notary + SDM (Delhi) attestation + MEA apostille + return delivery (India). International (USD) — $30 per document, covering MEA apostille handling fee only. Notary, SDM (Delhi) attestation, and delivery are quoted separately for international orders.. All prices shown are inclusive of GST.
How long does FRC apostille take?
Most certificates finish in ~2-3 working days once in process. If State Home Department is required instead of SDM, or a translation is needed for your destination, timelines can extend — we share a firm ETA upfront.
I'm in South Korea and need this for NHIS — does that change anything?
The India-side apostille process is the same. After we return the apostilled original, you'll separately need a Korean translation and possibly notarization before submitting to NHIS — see our step-by-step guide for Indians in South Korea, linked below.
Can a family member submit the certificate on my behalf while I'm abroad?
Yes. A parent or relative can submit with a short authorization letter and ID copies — we share the exact template.
Is e-Apostille (QR) accepted for a Family Relationship Certificate?
Often yes, if your destination accepts online QR verification. Choose the Regular Apostille when the receiving authority only checks the physical document with no online lookup step.
